Wet outfielders play in the second test between India and Bangladesh

KANPUR, India (AP) — The wait to restart the second Test between India and Bangladesh continued on Sunday as the morning session of the third day was lost due to a wet pitch.

While there has been no rain since Saturday’s morning showers, the soggy outfield continued to present safety risks for players. The bowling areas on either side of the pitch, as well as slip cordons and certain close, delineated field positions, appeared to be of concern to umpires Chris Brown (New Zealand) and Richard Kettleborough (England).

Field staff at Green Park Stadium worked during the morning session to try to prepare the field for play later on Sunday.

Bangladesh were 107-3 in their first innings, with all 35 overs bowled on a first day cut short by rain. Rain and wet outfields meant the second day was abandoned without a ball being bowled.

India won the first Test in Chennai by 280 runs to lead the two-match series.
