Donald Trump visits Alabama vs Georgia football game

TUSCALOOSA – People lined the fences at Tuscaloosa National Airport on Saturday eagerly awaiting the arrival of Donald Trump.

Last Thursday, the University of Alabama confirmed that the former president and current Republican presidential candidate would attend Alabama football’s first SEC matchup against Georgia.

It won’t be the first time Trump has seen the Crimson Tide. It won’t be the first time I’ve seen Alabama play Georgia, either.

While in office, Trump came to Atlanta to watch Alabama claim the national championship against the Bulldogs in the 2018 College Football Playoff national championship, better known to Crimson Tide fans as “second and 26.”

Trump’s first appearance at Bryant-Denny Stadium came in 2019 for Alabama’s game against No. 2 LSU. That night, Joe Burrow and the Tigers defeated the Crimson Tide, 46-41, No. 3-ranked Alabama’s only loss that season. LSU won the 2020 national championship in a game against Clemson, which marked one of six college football games Trump would attend in office.

This live story will be updated with new information and photos.
