Foo Fighters Soundside Music Festival presentation canceled

Foo Fighters pulled out of a music festival days early amid controversy surrounding frontman Dave Grohl, who recently admitted to fathering a child outside of his 21-year marriage.

The rock band shared in a brief statement Thursday that it will “no longer appear” at the Soundside Music Festival in Bridgeport, Connecticut, this weekend as planned.

“Check the festival website for more information,” the band said. No reason was provided for the cancellation.

A representative for Foo Fighters declined to comment.

The band was set to headline the Soundside Music Festival on Sunday. The festival said in X that Jack White and Greta Van Fleet will now headline that day. “Unfortunately, Foo Fighters have announced that they will no longer be performing this weekend,” the festival shared.

Noah Kahan, Boyz II Men, Bleachers, Norah Jones and Teddy Swims are among the artists also performing at the Soundside Music Festival, which begins Saturday.

The last-minute cancellation comes more than two weeks after Grohl, 55, revealed in a statement on Sept. 10 that he “recently became the father of a new daughter, born out of my marriage.”

The rocker has been married to Jordyn Blum since 2003 and they share three daughters between the ages of 10 and 18. In his statement, he said he plans to be a “loving and supportive father” to the girl.

“I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness,” he said. “We are grateful for your consideration of all the children involved as we move forward together.”

Foo Fighters, who wrapped up their Everything or Nothing at All tour last month, currently have no upcoming live dates on their website.
