Caitlin Clark and DeWanna Bonner face off in a heated moment at the start of the second match between the Fever and Sun

Things heated up early on Wednesday night in Game 2 between the Indiana Fever and Connecticut Sun at Mohegan Sun Arena.

In the opening minutes of the game, Fever guard Caitlin Clark and Sun forward DeWanna Bonner got into an on-court argument. As the shot clock was about to expire on an offensive possession and Bonner was guarding her, Clark attempted a deep three-pointer and fell to the floor after missing the shot.

The two players exchanged words as they walked down the court, and Clark gave Bonner a shove. It appeared Clark was not too happy with the lack of landing space Bonner gave her on the three-point attempt.

The game continued from there as no foul was called on either Clark or Bonner.

And that, my friends, is a taste of what WNBA playoff basketball will be like.

The Fever, who were down 1-0 in the best-of-three series, started the game with a 13-4 lead, but trailed 17-14 after the first quarter.

“Stay focused on what’s on the court, my other four teammates that are here with me,” Clark told reporter Holly Rowe on ESPN’s broadcast after the first quarter, mentioning that her focus for the rest of the game will be heightened. “I think that’s the most important thing. I thought we got off to a good start, but we can’t let them win again after we get a good lead.”

Clark had six points, four rebounds and three assists in the first quarter, while Bonner recorded two points and three rebounds.
